CBS Beton is a pioneer in environmentally friendly precast concrete systems. It was therefore a logical choice to build the new offices in concrete.
However, everything was pulled out of the hat to apply sustainability in the best possible way.

Concrete fulfils multiple functions within the building. Not only does it form the complete structure, but via concrete core activation it also contributes to the indoor climate. This technique was used by Goedefroo Architects back in 2008 in their own offices.

The new office building is seamlessly connected to the existing structures through a unifying concrete shell, wrapping the first two floors and visually tying the old and new buildings together. The top floor is recessed, creating space for terraces and adding a dynamic contrast to the structure’s form. The shell also serves as a protective element, providing sun shading and shelter from the surrounding industrial activity.

The building’s interior is designed for flexibility, with open office spaces organized around key service areas such as kitchens and meeting rooms. Corridors with seating areas and informal meeting points foster collaboration. The reception area overlooks the new green space, benefiting from large windows and the protection of the concrete shell. The top floor is fully dedicated to employee wellbeing, featuring a multipurpose room, cafeteria, and a large terrace with planters, creating a natural retreat within the workspace.

The facade plays a crucial role in defining the building's aesthetic. The concrete shell on the first two floors creates depth and rhythm, while black aluminum curtain walls and wooden panels introduce a sleek, modern contrast. The recessed top floor, clad in wood, adds warmth and complements the natural setting. On the right side, prefabricated concrete panels echo the industrial character of the neighboring buildings.

The landscape design integrates functional parking and green spaces, enhancing the connection between the building and its surroundings. The rooftop terrace with planters provides a peaceful outdoor space for employees, blending the built environment with greenery.
